Neighborhood Information

A traditional blue-collar neighborhood, Lafayette has some of the City’s best preserved turn of the century row houses. It is also the welcome point to Liberty Science Center and Liberty State Park, the most heavily trafficked park in the State today. Lafayette is now undergoing a dramatic renewal with 13 redevelopment project presently designated by the Agency. The recently completed Jersey City Housing Authority Hope VI project, Pacific Court join Lafayette Village as models for mixed income communities.
